Religious Organizations


There are different religious organizations located in the Lehigh Valley all offering various services for people. You do not have to identify with the specific religion to access the services they offer.


Lehigh Conference of Churches:

  • Pathways Housing Services
    • Provides Housing to those who are homeless
    • Assistance for getting medical prescriptions
    • Benefit enrollment help for people who are uninsured
    • Help with day to day needs
  • Soup Kitchen
    • Provides warm meal to those in need
    • Helps secure medical care
    • Soup Kitchen location is St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8th and Walnut Streets, Allentown PA 18101. The hours for the soup kitchen are 12-1pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
  • Daybreak
    • Weekday drop in center for the elderly, those struggling with mental illness or physical disability, HIV/AIDS, and those with addictions.
    • Offers three meals every weekday
    • Learn life skills and attend recreational activities
  • Hope
    • Provides help to homeless adults dealing with substance abuse or mental illness
    • Case management to help individuals take control of their lives
       

Along with these services the Lehigh Conference of Churches also offers different events, such as talks, throughout the year that the public can attend.


 

Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley:

  • Lectures on different topics that the public can attend
  • Works with St. Paul's Soup Kitchen
  • Runs an Interfaith Dialogue to bring people together

 


JCC of Lehigh Valley

  • Offers a wide range of different wellness programs such as fitness and aquatics classes
    • Personal Training
    • Group Training
    • Aquatic classes
  • Offers childcare options such as preschool, kindergarten and after school care
  • Has summer camp opportunities for students such as travel camp and theater camp
  • Adult programs
    • Silver Sneakers workout program designed for older adults
    • Adults at the J hosts fun group outings for people over the age of 18
    • Friendship Circle- weekly meeting group for seniors
  • Arts and Culture
    • Art Gallery with exhibits rotating every 6 weeks
    • Stagemakers youth theater
    • Has a Jewish film festival with guest speakers
